AFP recently completed a comprehensive upgrade of the hotel’s fitness center with an arsenal of the industry’s most innovative products, including the revolutionary AMT functional trainer, a full slate of strength equipment and a state-of-the-art Cardio Theater entertainment system to power personal viewing screens on every treadmill in the facility. Challenges were faced in the form of a fully re-designed electrical wiring plan, entertainment integration, and facility space constraints coupled with tight deadlines. Addressing these challenges with its unique expertise and solutions, AFP delivered a fully upgraded facility completed on schedule.

Project Summary

The Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino features understated luxury, affording guests a haven of sophistication and service on par with the best boutique hotels in the world. Elegantly appointed suites and stylish lobby areas set a tone of confident discretion, while the hotel’s carefully tailored roster of amenities provide an unparalleled atmosphere for attending to both business and pleasure.

Amidst the offerings of this one of a kind property resides Spa Mandalay, a state-of-the-art spa and fitness center. As with all other aspects of the hotel, the fitness center features only the latest in equipment technologies and services. Therefore, Mandalay Bay’s management wastes little time in consistently upgrading its equipment and service offerings to ensure they’re always up to date. Over the last several years, Mandalay management has turned to AFP as its partner in fitness.  Serving Mandalay in all aspect of fitness consultancy, AFP created a phase based rollout of upgrades that recently culminated in November, 2007.  Facility Design, Equipment Sourcing, Technical Service, and after care support were all required to insure Mandalay’s offering were among the best on the Strip.

Most recently, the completion of the final phase of improvements were focused on the cardiovascular areas of the Since the facility’s initial fitting, fitness equipment industry leader Precor has developed a variety of innovative machines, highlighted by the recent release of the AMT (Adaptive Motion Trainer) – the cutting edge in functional training, moving in harmony with the natural movements of each user. Further, entertainment integration with all new equipment was also completed.

Results

Project Manager and Key Account Representative for AFP, Eric Konz, addressed the facilities specific requirements and has worked closely with the hotel in all phases of design and upgrades. With the significant upgraded entertainment amenities, ensuring an efficient and effective electrical wiring plan was critical. AFP worked directly with Mandalay’s electrical engineers on the appropriate routing plan and was present when old wiring was pulled and the new wiring installed. When all was said and done, the fitness center truly reflected the best that the industry has to offer, rivaling even that of the local mainstream fitness chains in the area.
